Open the text file entitled 'xfilescodes.txt' and paste it into Notepad or Word, etc. Wow I was about 20 years old now that I think of it. Unzip the file, upload all of the mood pics to your site/image host of choice. It was enlarged and framed and then hung up in the place while they ran there twenty five cent special for Coke a Cola and French Fries. I don’t know how many people actually bought the album, but the infomercial ran on Nickelodeon constantly, which makes me think they didn’t really know their target audience. We got to be very popular there with the manager and I remember he took our picture sitting at the table next to the Jukebox. Pure Moods also had Tubular Bells from The Exorcist (which I always got mixed up with the Halloween theme) and a techno remix of the X-Files theme, for some reason. I used to help him with his harmony and theory homework so we could go out to Brighams Ice Cream that was in the Prudential Center Building in Boston and get French Fries and a Coke while we sat with other friends and sang harmonies next to this 50's style jukebox that was in the place. So what else can I say!! Except I came across another webpage that had to do with a re-recording of the song or an album called "Tubular Bells II" as I was reading who the players were in that recording, it turns out that one of those drummers that I went to school with whose name is John Robinson is playing drums on that recording. This may sound boring, however Oldfield's creation immediately grabs your attention and won't let go until it is time to turn your record over to side two (thank god for the CD, which has eliminated that problem). ![]() Tubular Bells part 1 or side 1 is largely based on just one, seemingly simple piano melody (seemingly simple, as this combined 9/8 - 7/8 time signature sounds more simple than it is) which gets repeated in various themes by different instruments. Well, and it to me to this webpage that said this. The one answer I also got from these guys was that if they screwed up and lost the beat, they always knew that I knew where ONE was or the downbeat.Īnyways so still being bugged I wondered if I typed in a search engine the title of the song 'Tubular Bells - Time Signature. I'd always ask why if for any reason they liked my playing abilities as a guitarist. Most of my best friends at music college back in the 70's were drummer's. Well for what it's worth I can honestly say I've never seen an original piece of sheet music for the song, so this is why I was still saying I wasn't sure in my oringinal post. As I had originally stated cause I was trying to count it out in my head and I felt the 9/8 feel to it or a double time count so that's why I felt it would be in something 8 time. ![]()
